Make your mark on this general election

wREGA has announced its 2010 Annual General Meeting which will take place in 24 April 2010, at KBU International College in Bandar Utama. This will be an election year (visit wrega.org/2010election).

wREGA has been continuously striving to be relevant and beneficial in serving its members and the graphic design industry, both academically and professionally. The existence of wREGA is generally based on achieving wREGA's main objectives:

• To raise the standards of graphic design and visual communication, its professional practice and the professional status of graphic design practitioner
• To encourage cooperation and exchange of view and research between members and with professionals and organisations in related fields, the government, industry, commerce and society
• To obtain and disseminate among the members information on matter affecting the profession
• To assist in the education of graphic design students, to hold talks and workshops in the art and science of graphic design and visual communication

This year's general election will see an influx of new blood in the board of committee (visit wrega.org/2010election), with the hopes of moving wREGA to another level that we can all proud of.

That's why it is important to show them (the board of committee) that we care about wREGA's development. It's more important to lend our generous support in any which way we can. Support by participation... in wREGA's events, in wREGA's dialogues/forums, etc... etc...

Support is very much needed from various individuals:

• fellow wREGA members
• fellow professional graphic designers
• design students, lectureres and colleges/universities
• relevant industry friends
• relevant organisations

Our generous support will be greatly appreciated for the health, wealth and a sustainable growth and success of our association, and to ensure the smooth running of the administration when the newly elected officers take office soon. After all, we are all here to do as much as needed for the greater good for our profession and industry, right?, ...besides providing us, the working designers, with better opportunities.

In other words, we need to support them for them to support us.
